The Dance Movement troupe are really go-getters as they are hard at work again rehearsing for their fourth annual production coming up on October 22 at the Austerville Community Hall in Wentworth. The group, which recently returned from the UK Hip Hop World Championships competition with a whopping 12 trophies, will also showcase what moves they busted at the World Champs.

"This year has just been really hectic for the dancers and I'm glad that with all the sacrifice and hard work they commit to it, has paid off," says group director Jarryd Watson. "I'm very excited about this production as it showcases the absolute development and growth in the dancers’ skill and talent over the last four years and for me that is a sense of accomplishment and job well done.”

This dance movement production will be made up of youth who live in and around the Wentworth community and are between the ages of 5 and16. They will showcase their moves in a variety of styles like hip hop, break dancing, contemporary and modern/jazz dancing which has been choreographed by Jarryd Watson (dance director), ballet dancers Jayde Walton and Julia Hosmer we well as Preston Kyd (break dancer) and Vusi Makhanya (contemporary dancer).

"The production showcases its traditional sense of hip hop choreography but audiences are in for a new treat as new and intricate styles of dance like abstract, lyrical and international house will be explored as well as an interesting highlight that will get audiences in awe," concludes Jarryd Watson.

The Dance Movement will present their performance on October 22 at 13h00 at the Austerville Community Hall in Wentworth. Tickets R50 booked through Jarryd on 082 683 9665. A tuckshop will be available.
