Durban Actors Studio, founded in 2007, is a part-time, extramural, performing arts training centre. Its aim is to nurture and advance artistic ability and creative confidence in all its students; children to adults.

The studio offers training in Acting, Musical Theatre, Mime, Devising Drama, Public Speaking, Improvisation, Movement, Reading for Performance, Shakespeare and, for post matrics, the soon to be launched, LAMDA Acting Diploma.

“We find and create as many performance opportunities as possible for our students. Our students have performed in professional stage productions locally, nationally and internationally. Students have been cast in international movies, tv advertisements, been voice-over artists for radio advertisements and have also officially represented our country, South Africa, performing at the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow, alongside the National Scottish Youth Theatre,” says Gill Brunings, director of the Studio.
