The Playhouse Company, an agency of the Department of Sport,
Arts and Culture, presents its Isicathamiya Concert in The Opera Theatre on
September 21 at 20h00.
One of the most significant and long-lasting contributions made to the South African cultural performing arts scene was brought about many years ago by The Playhouse Company under the watch of its Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Lynda Bukhosini. Ms Bukhosini formally introduced the art form onto the Company’s main stage as a vital ingredient in the overall mix of its annual arts plan.
Since then, the event has seen wide-ranging Playhouse audiences whole-heartedly embracing the tradition of Isicathamiya as a highlight on the Company’s arts calendar.
