ANDREW YOUNG

Now residing in Vienna, world-renowned saxophonist Andrew Young will be back in Durban to perform a concert at the Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Auditorium on October 20 titled I'm From Liverpool. This will be a tribute to the music of the Beatles who first performed together professionally 50 years ago. Andrew's third visit to Hillcrest is a community event in aid of Focus on Ithemba school for orphans and also to raise funds for the HCA music department. Last year's concert drew an audience of 3,500.

Andrew will be supported by his three-piece band from Cape Town, local guitarist Rowan Stuart, HCA star Cindy Fritz, 13 string players from the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and a group of backing singers from St Mary’s DSG and Kearsney College. Music arrangements are by KZNPO principal clarinettist Ian Holloway who will also conduct the concert.

I'm From Liverpool takes place on October 20 at 18h30 at the Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Auditorium, Inanda Road, in Hillcrest.

Highway Mail and Kwikspar are the main sponsors of the event. Tickets R60 (R30 pensioners, children and students) available at most Upper Highway Kwikspars and Hillcrest Christian Academy. Bookings through Hillcrest Kwikspar on 031 765 5353, HCA on 031 765 2752 or Ian Holloway on 083 783 3450.
