Prior to appearing in the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra’s Spring Season concert on October 27, internationally acclaimed cellist Peter Bruns will perform a recital for Friends of Music. He will be accompanied by the equally well-known Annegret Kuttner on piano. Both artists are from Germany.
Peter Bruns has established an excellent reputation in the international music world. He has performed as a soloist and a chamber musician throughout the world including Germany, Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Tokyo, Hungary and Hong Kong. He has recorded a series of award winning CDs.
Annegret Kuttner’s playing has been described as “impressive for its airy clarity” (Irish Times). “Her playing is characterized by considerable professionalism”.
The programme includes Sonata D Major Op. 58 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847); “Arpeggione” Sonata by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) and Sonata A major Op.69 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).
The Prelude Performer for the evening will be Mozambican guitarist, Milton Chisana.
The recital will take place at 19h45 on October 25 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road (K.E. Masinga Road), Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM members, R20 orchestral members & students) Booking is at Computicket. There is safe parking.
