CHRIS BROWN CARPE DIEM TOUR



He’s a singer, songwriter, actor, rapper, dancer, recording artist and winner of many prestigious awards and accolades. He’s a mega, mega-star. He’s the Grammy® Award winning Chris Brown and he’s bringing his Carpe Diem world tour to South Africa later this year.

Presented by local promoter, Canoc Productions in association with Channel O, this multi platinum artist will perform at the Outer Fields, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, on December 17.

Loosely translated, “Carpe Diem” means ‘seize the day” and fans across the globe have been actively speculating for days online after Chris Brown posted an image featuring the words “Carpe Diem” and “tour”. From Belgium to Ireland and from Germany to the Netherlands, fans are a buzz about the news of Chris Brown’s next world tour that will begin on November 17 in Norway and continue to 12 major European cities including Stockholm, Stuttgart, Basel and Paris before touching down on African soil.

In 2005, show business natural 16-year old Chris Brown emerged from small town Tappahannock, Virginia. His career rose swiftly, as his promising skills drew comparisons to his idols Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

His self-titled debut album, which was certified double platinum sold over 3 million copies, making Chris Brown the newest American R&B sensation. He earned two Grammy nominations in addition to a nationally televised performance on Awards night in 2007 with Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson joining them for a medley of their respective hits. As his career catapulted so too did this 23-year old singer-songwriter’s list of awards and accomplishments. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in R&B, pop and hip hop including Juelz Santana, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Justin Bieber, Busta Rhymes, David Guetta and Big Sean.

Chris Brown’s number one hits include the platinum-plus status With You, Forever and Kiss Kiss (featuring and produced by T-Pain). Last year he released F.A.M.E with hit songs like Next To You (featuring Justin Bieber and Yeah3x). The album was awarded a Grammy for Best R&B album and won the Album of the Year prize at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards. F.A.M.E also went all the way to the No. 1 spot on the prestigious US Billboard 200 list. In July this year, Brown released his fifth album entitled Fortune. Featuring the gigantic hit song Don’t wake me up; the album has been topping the US lists.

Chris Brown is also an experienced actor who made his big screen debut in Stomp The Yard in 2007 as well as a major role in the holiday feature film This Christmas and the 2010 movie, Takers.
