The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway will be rocking Easter,
when they stage the 80’s alternative tribute, Hey Now, Hey Now Now!, on March
27.
This cutting-edge
80’s rock show that celebrates and pays tribute to the best alternative rock
bands of the decade appears at the Barnyard for one show only. Hey Now, Hey
Now Now! was conceptualised in 2013 by Danny de Wet (ex Wonderboom,
eVoid and Petit Cheval), to fulfil the need for an 80’s tribute show
that focused on presenting the myriad of huge ‘unconventional’ chart-topping
hits that alternative bands of the era enjoyed. It has received major success
on the Barnyard circuit.
The repertoire
includes medleys of the great songs by the great bands of the era such as
Depeche Mode, REM, Duran Duran, INXS, Billy Idol, U2 and Simple Minds. In
addition to this there were huge hits by slightly darker bands such as Love
Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division, Just Like Heaven by The Cure, Blister
In The Sun by Violent Femmes, Blue Monday by New Order, This
Corrosion by Sisters of Mercy, Should I Stay Or Should I Go by The
Clash and more!
Hey Now, Hey Now
Now! was an instant
hit due to both the excellent material on offer, and the phenomenal vocal
talents of Danny De Wet (also on percussion), Dee Phoenix (Seven Side
Story) and Jay Wilton (The Cavalier); together with the band
of Quinton Lotter on drums and vocals, Justin Hart on bass guitar, and
guitarists Mark Kenyon and Darren Drawbridge.
The theatre will open at 18h30, the show will start at
19h30 and tickets are R110 pp. For bookings and enquiries, phone The Barnyard
