Talk English is a volunteer organisation
that has been going for over 12 years and teaches adults to speak English to
enable them to get better jobs. Adult students of all ages and educational
standards have benefitted. Many are professionals in various fields but are hampered
by a language barrier.
Classes take place on Saturday mornings in
four groups - beginner, pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper intermediate.
Unfortunately, the classes are limited and they have a long waiting list. All
the teachers are voluntary and either CELTA or TEFL trained.
There is no cost to the students, but they
do need funds for administration expenses such as rent and materials for the
students.
Talk English has kindly been offered a
performance of Shall We Dance for September
12, 2018, at the Playhouse as a fundraiser and are selling tickets at R100
each. Tickets are obtainable either by phoning Janet at 072 422 3233 or by
email to cheryl.borresen@gmail.com
