The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will
present the Guitar Showcase by selected 1st to 3rd year students tomorrow (September
12, 2018, at 18h00.
Some of the participants are Damien Roodt,
Mkhanyisi Ngubelani, Sanele Ntombela, Dimitri Barry Jesse Smith, Nic Pitman,
and Josh Swanson. This concert is a part of a series of instrumental showcases
planned over the course of the year. The last one will be the Brass Showcase on
October 3, 2018.
Expect songs like Blues and Tenderly by
Walter Gross, Point of View by Jimi
Dludlu, Qula Kwedini (Zim Ngqawana), Umkhumane ( Nduduzo Makhathini), Izolo ( Sandile Shange) and standards
like Blues for Alice (Parker), Four (Miles Davis) and Impressions (Coltrane), Take the A Train, All the Things you are,
How High the Moon and original composition.
The Guitar Showcase takes place on September
12, 2018, at 18h00 (doors open at 17h30) at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music
(CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. General
