SA's premier comedy and jazz series Jokes & Jazz returns to UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music for a “Twosday” gig on Tuesday September 10, 2024, at 17h30.

Hosted by Kwanda Radebe, an award-winning comedian and UKZN graduate, Kwanda Radebe is a standout talent in South Africa’s comedy scene. Recognized by Times Live as one of the top seven young South Africans poised to take over the world, Kwanda’s sharp-witted social commentary and playful observations of daily life promise an evening of insightful and humorous entertainment.

The line-up features Mo Vawda, a comedian known for his high-energy performances. Vawda is a dynamic comedian and a beloved host on Lotus FM’s Sunday Breakfast Show. As a lecturer at UKZN, Mo brings a unique blend of humour and academic insight, making him a standout figure in the comedy world.

The line-up also features International comedian Troy Tesla, who is the original founder of Jokes and Jazz. Tesla combines his legal studies with edgy, boundary-pushing humour. His global comedy experience and distinctive style ensure a performance that is both thought-provoking and entertaining.

Joining on some a musical flair to the evening’s comedy is young and talented singer Khetho Makhanya. Makhanya hails from Pinetown and adds his fresh and engaging voice to complement the comedic acts, creating a rich tapestry of sound and laughter.

Jokes and Jazz is a unique event that promising an unforgettable experience filled with laughter and exceptional music.

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is a space dedicated to the promotion and development of jazz, popular music and the arts in general. It offers a vibrant space for artists to explore and showcase their talents.  The ‘Twosday’ concept was first launched in 2011 and is an on-going monthly series that was added to the successful Weekly Wednesday “Trios” series.
