Friends of Pieter Scholtz invite audiences to a Mondays at St Clements “first” featuring acclaimed French-Congolese singer-musician René Tshiakanyi.
This will take place on October 7 at 18h00.
René (with guitar) will share a selection of his favourite songs, mainly from his European repertoire, about love and life and people and faith and belief.
A self-professed “hopeless romantic” he will intersperse his songs — French, Portuguese, Italian, English — with stories about the themes and the lyrics. “Words and melodies and the music all have to say something and mean something.”
“If you’re lucky, there is at least one artist in life who gives you a new perspective and takes you on a memorable journey.” For many of us, René Tshiakanyi needs no introduction. He is the musician of choice, on vocals, sax and guitar, at happenings, events, fund-raisers, celebrations, in Durban and throughout KZN.
