The Human Exhibition production is a collective dance
collaboration created by five KMSDT choreographers and performed by five female
dancers!
Description of the production
Director and
choreographer of KMSDT, Vusi Makanya, explains: “The Human Exhibition Dance
Production is the home of captivating short Dance Choreography that explores
the problems and issues facing society today under the themes of Time,
Genetics, Mind & Body, Infection, and Environmental Breakdown. Our
production uses the power of movement and rhythm to bring to life the struggles
of individuals and communities, on important social and mental health issues.
This performance is built through expressive dance rituals and built upon the
principles of self-care, truth-telling, inclusion, vulnerability,
sustainability, and love – all of which we have experienced in the face of
human.
“Join us as we explore these topics through the lens of dance and movement. Storytelling is central in the process of remembering and embodies some of the key aspects of autobiography as a research tool. We are directed to examine and reflect on our experiences, analysing goals and intentions, making connections between happenings, and recounting each single experience.
