FIELD BAND SPECIAL
A feast of music with Field Band street march and concert in Chesterville.
The Field Band Foundation together with the Norwegian Band Federation and Flemish (Vlamo) have been having a show design and brass band workshop in Durban from December 4 to 14..
“Our Norwegian partners worked with our young tutors on their playing and teaching whilst our Vlamo instructors worked on developing our shows,” explains Retha Cilliers, CEO of the Field Band Foundation.
“The annual tutor workshop is aimed at improving the Foundation’s artistic element and our Norwegian and Flemish partners understand the African identity and work on developing the basics so that we can build the African shows with good basic technique in place,” she continues. “The highlight of the week’s workshop is the Concert in Chesterville showcasing the work of the week.”
The Field Band Foundation will hold a march through the streets of Chesterville Extension on December 14 starting at 12h00 at the HP Ngwenya School, Mwelase Street, Chesterville. Following the spectacular repertoire follows a concert from 13h00 to 14h00 at HP Ngwenya School.
Entrance is free and open to all - bring family and friends to see this great spectacular.
