Deadline draws closer for BASA awards.
For the past 11 years, BASA has been rewarding South African businesses for their crucial work with the country’s arts community.
The BASA awards, SA’s leading business and arts awards – prove that innovation, creativity and fun can be an important part of what business does.
This year, South African businesses again have the chance to win the only national award that pays tribute to the role they play in keeping South Africa’s arts community alive.
All’s that needed is to enter any one of the 12 categories in the 2009 Business Day-BASA Awards. Entry is open to businesses, big and small, and arts organisations that have benefited from relationships with business over the past year.
With the closing date extended to April 30, businesses and the arts community have just over five weeks to enter South Africa’s most prestigious business-arts awards event which takes place on August 31 - just weeks ahead of the fourth World Summit on Arts and Culture in Johannesburg.
Designed to bring South Africa's business and creative communities together, the Business Day-BASA Awards are once again presented in partnership with Anglo American and Business Day, Entry is open in 12 categories: Best Use of a Commission of New Art; First-time Sponsor; Increasing Access to the Arts; International Sponsorship; Long-term Development; Media Sponsorship; Single Project; Sponsorship by a Small Business; Sponsorship in Kind; Strategic Sponsorship; Youth Sponsorship, and The Barloworld ARTWORKS Mentor of the Year Award.
The Chairman's Premier Award is made at the discretion of the Chairman of BASA, and recognises sustained and extraordinary commitment to the arts in South Africa.
Winners are rewarded with a specially commissioned original artwork which this year promises to significantly add to the prestige of winning.
