Part-time event co-ordinator needed for the Rainbow Young Performers Project 2009 in July 2009.
A part-time event co-ordinator is needed for the Rainbow Young Performers Project 2009, which is Big River – The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn. The show, supported by Rainbow for the first time, will be staged at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre over the July school holidays from July 3 to 19.
The project needs an event co-ordinator (administrator, company manager) to work on a part-time basis from May 11 until the end of July.
The successful candidate needs to have event management experience; needs to understand theatre systems and protocol; needs computer literacy and basic bookkeeping skills (they will have to manage the income and expenditure of the project); needs to be available flexi-time days, evenings and weekends; needs to be a self-starter; have good networking skills, and ideally have their own transport.
The Young Performers Project is an annual event which takes place every July over the school holidays. The performers are all high school learners, but the context is strictly professional.
Themi Venturas directs Big River – The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn., the family musical version of Mark Twain’s profound adventure classic Huckleberry Finn, a story which reminds us that two people from very different backgrounds can share a commonality and embark on an astonishing life adventure together.
This is the ninth annual Young Performers project which follows on School of Rock SA, Annie, Curtain Up, One Voice, Grease, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof and The Wiz.
Big River – The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn is suitable for the whole family and the project is supported for the first time by Rainbow. For more information and to find out about interview procedures, contact the Catalina Theatre on 031 305 6889.
