MAJORIE JONES OPEN WEEKEND

KZN Artist Marjorie Jones is back in action!

Well-known artist Marjorie Jones is hosting an Open Weekend on June 13 and14 at her home studio in Gillitts.

Marjorie will showcase her vast range of mediums that she works in at her studio home. These include wood, cement and ceramic sculpture, oil on canvas, monoprints and wall hangings which entail a rich mixture of sisal, natural wool and clay. Her fresh and vivid art works will captivate and entice you. Experience wandering around the magical garden, graced with beautiful sculptures, leaving you mesmerised by the surroundings.

Also on display will be artworks by Keith Roderick including his wood sculpture, face drums and sculpted furniture. The Hillcrest Aids Centre's famous bead work will also be on show.

The Open Weekend on June 13 and 14 will be open from 11h00 until 18h00. The official opening on June 13 at 12h00 will be by Paula Thompson from the Hillcrest Aids Centre, followed by a drumming session at 15h00.

Credit cards welcome. Delicious vegetarian dishes will be on sale. Parking is available.

Directions: From Durban travel along N3, take M13 turning (Pinetown/Pietermaritzburg), all the way up Fields Hill towards M13 Gillitts , take the No. 28 off-ramp (Old Main Road/Hillcrest) at intersection turn right towards Hillcrest, over bridge, second left into St Helier Road. Turn left under bridge opposite St Helier Dam and follow the road to the top of St Helier Road.

From: Pietermaritzburg, take the M13 (not the toll road) and the No 28 offramp, turn towards Hillcrest and the first left into St Helier Road. Turn left under bridge opposite Dam and follow the road to the top of St Helier Road.
