BODY of work is the title of a solo exhibition by Coral Spencer Domijan, at artSPACE durban.

Spencer Domijan’s earliest influences were classical, having been introduced to plaster casts of Roman classical sculpture in the basement of Glasgow School of art when she was a child. This being significant, because it was the light that fell on these huge piles of human form that intrigued her the most. A nurturing education in Scotland and South Africa, coupled with a grandfather who taught art, set her course.

Spencer Domijan paints light on form and has a keen regard for what she calls ‘high skill’. Her interest in body language and relationships (the human condition) can be seen in her composition and conceptual threads, which explores the body and its relationship to itself and others.
