Curator of the Durban Botanic Gardens talks about winning Gold at Chelsea Flower Show 2009

Due to popular request, Curator of the Durban Botanic Gardens Christopher Dalzell will give another of his interesting talks on building an award-winning exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show in London.

Titled It needs teamwork & tenacity to triumph, Chris gives a light hearted account of the hard work and excitement which goes into the design concept, the behind-the-scenes planning and tenacity required to compete at Chelsea - known as the Olympics in floral display. The highly skilled team which travelled to London to assist the four staffers from the eThekwini Parks Department showed how team work and high energy is vital for a project of this size.

The presentation will take place at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Complex Hall on September 22 from 10h00 to 12h00. It is advisable to be there at 09h30 and light refreshments will be offered after the talk.

Tickets R30pp (a concessionary ticket is offered to current Members of the Friends on presentation of their membership card) Early booking as advised through the Info Centre on 031 309 1170. Why not take a friend or two and enjoy a wander through the beautiful Gardens after the talk?
