CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS & TELEPHONE WIRE EXHIBITION

(Pic: Telephone wire plate)

Exhibition of New Christmas Ornaments and Telephone Wire Products.

If you're hunting for distinctive Christmas ornaments and gifts at affordable prices, visit the Christmas ornament and telephone wire product exhibition at the African Art Centre.

The African Art Centre works with both emerging and established crafters. By means of workshops and training, the crafters of KwaZulu-Natal regularly receive input and advice on how to market their products, product improvement and development. New artists and crafter are welcomed to the programmes and their skills nurtured and monitored through the centre’s Development Programmes.

Workshops presented to the crafters of KwaZulu-Natal by Hlengiwe Dube and Nozipho Zulu from the African Art Centre during 2009 not only ensured that the crafters remained self-employed, but also ensured a regular income for their families.

In an attempt to broaden the spectrum of art and craft development, services are extended to rural regions of KwaZulu-Natal as far afield as New Hanover. Innovative and vibrant products from bowls and plates in a variety of sizes, vases, bracelets and other items of jewellery created at the Siyazikhandla telephone wire workshops are included in the exhibition.

The exhibition showcases a large selection of skilfully beaded Christmas tree ornaments and decorations, colourfully beaded tableware, hand-built ceramic work and much more. The African Art Centre is situated at 94 Florida Road in Durban. More information on 031 312 3804/5.
