Final concert of the current KZNPO season.

Grand Finale is the title of the final concert of the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra’s current season.

Vincent de Kort conducts the orchestra in a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of South Africa’s most treasured composers, Michael Moerane, as well as the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death, performing excerpts from their most memorable works.

The first half of the concert features world-renowned pianist Melvyn Tan playing Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor. In the second half, the orchestra is joined by soloists Bronwen Forbay (soprano), Lionel Mkhwanazi (tenor) and Selby Hlangu (baritone), as well as the Durban Symphonic Choir and African Chorus for the Moerane and Haydn choral excerpts.

The concert takes place on November 12 at 19h30 in the Durban City Hall. Booking is at Computicket. More information on 031 369 9404 or email Bookings@kznpo.co.za
