Daytime recitals for UKZN final practical exams moved to Centre for Jazz and Popular Music.
There has been a change of venue for the daytime recitals at the University of KwaZulu-Natal s there is construction taking place around Howard College Theatre and the noise makes performance impossible. Those exams scheduled for the daytime will now take place at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music. All evening concerts will still take place at Howard College Theatre.
The recitals affected are:
November 16: Frances Currie’s opera recital at 12h15, and Brett Alborough’s first practical recital at 13h15. (Wendy Moshutli’s opera recital at 18h00 remains at Howard College Theatre)
November 17: Mthunzi Nokubekha and Ntokozo Mhlongo’s opera recitals at 12h15. (Anele Mnguni’s bassoon recital at 18h00 and Maggie Depp’s MMus performance in Oboe recital at 19h00 remain at Howard College Theatre)
November 18: No change. Lukhanyo Moyakhe and Edward Phiri’s opera recitals at and Lwazi Ncube’s MMus performance in Opera recital at 19h00 remain at Howard College Theatre)
November 19: Samantha Goldblatt’s recorder performance recital at 12h00 and Maggie Deppe’s MMus performance in Oboe recital at 12h30. (Sibusiso Mkhulisi’s MMus Performance in choral conducting at 19h00 remains at Howard College Theatre)
A concert not featured on the original list is another public exam recital by honours popular voice student Louise Campion. Louise will present her performance at the Glenridge Church at 18h45 on November 18. This recital should prove to be fairly spectacular including hip-hop dancers, a gospel choir, and a full band (featuring the likes of Mageshen Naidoo and Shemuel Mahabeer) with live strings. Entrance is free.
