UKZN MUSIC FINAL EXAMINATION RECITALS

The public is welcome to attend KZN music students’ final recitals.

The public is welcome to attend the final examination recitals of the students of the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Music School.

Recitals taking place at Howard College include: Kirsten Smith’s final Popular Voice performance on November 6 at 18h30) with Marijke de Bruin doing her final popular voice performance on November 9 at 19h00. The African Music and Dance students present their final recitals at the Howard College Theatre on November 10 (times to be confirmed).

Howard College Theatre hosts the opera recitals with Frances Currie (12h15) and Wendy Moshutli (18h00) on November 16. Mthunzi Nokubekha and Ntokozo Mhlongo will perform their opera recitals at 12h15 on November 17 followed by Lukhanyo Moyakhe and Edward Phiri on November 18 at 18h00. Lwazi Ncube will do her MMus performance in Opera recital on November 18 at 19h00.

Still at Howard College Theatre, Anele Mnguni performs his bassoon recital on November 17 at 18h00 followed immediately by Maggie Depp who will be doing her MMus performance in Oboe recital at 19h00. On November 19, Samantha Goldblatt appears in her recorder performance recital at 12h00 followed by Maggie Depp doing her MMus performance in Oboe recital at 12h30 and Sibusiso Mkhulisi with his MMus Performance in choral conducting at 19h00.

Students of the jazz programmes will perform at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music. These include Greg Bedford and Lindi Ngonelo who will be doing their final Jazz recitals for their BPracMus degrees on November 11 at 17h30. On November 12, Dane Francis will present his Diploma in Jazz Performance recital at 16h00 (only 20 minutes) followed by Michael Rathebe and Thaba Makooane who will perform their final jazz recitals at 18:30. On November 13, the Diploma in Jazz Performance students will present their recitals from 17h30. The students involved are Sylvester Mavimbela, Jessica Moodley, Bheki Mthembu, Siyanda Zulu, Luketho Mthethwa and Thabani Gapara.
