The Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg is hosting an exhibition in the Schreiner Gallery titled Art Through Technology. The exhibition opens on February 11.
The question prompting the exhibition is: “Does art and culture matter in a post-modern world where technology is a buzzword? We all know that South African children are urged to study mathematics and science in order to fit into today's highly technological world, while parents and children often wonder about the value of studying art.”
Art Through Technology runs from February 11 until March 14. This display of works from the Tatham's permanent collection, in which art and science are married together through design, is curated by Education Officer Pinky Madlabane-Nkabinde.
