ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR

Durban Girls College to present Ayckbourn farce.

Three Christmases, three married couples and three kitchens are the ingredients of this singularly absurd comedy farce which will have audiences laughing out loud!

Contemporary British playwright Alan Ayckbourn’s play, Absurd Person Singular is directed by Wendy Watson for Durban Girls’ College with Colin Chapman in the Associate Director’s chair.

Multi-award winning set designer Greg King has constructed a nifty realistic set which changes not once but twice during the show to accommodate three kitchen settings belonging to the three married couples who find themselves chaotically thrown together over three consecutive Christmas Eves!

A talented cast of six young people from Durban Girls’ College and Durban High School give the play their all (in between attending lessons and sport fixtures) in their final year at school.

The venue for the production will be the Lecture Theatre, an intimate venue seating about 170 people who will provide the “4th wall” of the set.

Absurd Person Singular opens on March 16 with a special price schools’ preview to run nightly thereafter until March 20. More information and bookings on 031 268 7206 or fax 031 209 5193.
