St Clements in Musgrave offers live poetry and drama readings, a programme put together by well-known Durban luminaries and spearheaded by Professor Pieter Scholtz.
March 1: Pat Smythe, James Parker and Fred Felton present The Man who knew How by Dorothy Myers; The Miser by James Parker and The Beginning of the Beguine, and other nonsense by Pat Smythe.
March 8: Tim Wells and his blues band in concert. Tim Wells has collaborated with some of Durban’s finest musicians to form a blues band which will play tunes by a range of artists, and one or two of his own compositions
March 15: Fallible Fables 2 - more fabulous stories read by Margaret Logan and Pieter Scholtz. The Sakabula’s Tail about isakabuli whose vanity brought about his downfall; How the Shongololo became: Ishongololo about the millipede who caused the Creator some problems, and The Wisdom of Squirrel about Ingwejeje the squirrel who acquired some timely wisdom.
March 22: Dark Chocolate. The Durban ensemble, Dark Chocolate, aka Charlie Berea and the Survivors, play a clutch of songs, some traditional, some Bob Dylan, some local. Featuring Rick and Gill Andrew, Dennis Bronner, Geoff Salt and Tony Fisher.
March 29: Une femme formidable! Hannah Lurie shares her wit and wisdom in poetic form.
