DEATH OF FIONA COYNE

Actress, playwright, author and presenter of The Weakest Link dies at her home in Fish Hoek.

Actress, playwright and author Fiona Coyne, well-known for her role as the presenter of the South African version of the quiz game, The Weakest Link, died this morning (August 18). She was found dead in her home in Fish Hoek. Foul play is not suspected. Fiona was 45 years old and is survived by her mother and two brothers.

Regular visitors to the Witness Hilton Arts Festival will know Coyne’s work from the three plays which have already been presented at the event: As the Koekie Crumbles, Dearly Beloved and Glass Roots, the latter being chosen as the flagship production in 2001.
