UKZN MUSIC

Forthcoming lunch-hour concerts from UKZN Music School.

August 23: Nibs van der Spuy, whose music is known for its guitar style although his lyrics are equally poignant and insightful. Nibs has recently launched his sixth solo album and third international offering, A House Across the River.

August 25: Milton and Friends. Milton Chissano will be joined by four friends for this performance in which they will perform a selection of Latin and Afro-Jazz pieces.

August 30: Intanantana Cultural Activities. This is a 12-member ensemble that has performed locally and internationally. The group performs original compositions and other works that highlight social, economic and political experiences. Intanantana also performs various types of indigenous music, such as Maskanda, Amahubo, Umbholoho and Afro-Pop.

September 1: Eyami. The runners-up of the 2009 Suncoast Jazz Competition will launch their debut album, Hope in this concert which forms a tribute to Prof. Emily Akuno for the role she has played in their lives.

UKZN Lunch Hour Concerts take place in Howard College Theatre from 12h15 to 13h00 and entrance is free.
