KZNPO concert in Howick postponed to August 15.
Due to extreme cold, and the vulnerability of orchestral instruments in inclement weather, the KZN Philharmonic were unable to perform at the Women's Day concert last Monday at the Yellowwood Café in Howick.
“However, they have generously agreed to come back this coming Sunday, August 15, to give the KZN people what they had promised - an extraordinary music line-up with celebrated vocalists Shelley Mclean and Lauren Dasappa,” explains promoter Alasdair Muir.
“Despite cold and wet weather, around 800 people from the Midlands, and as far afield as Durban, nonetheless arrived at Yellowwood in Howick,” Muir continued. “Armed with blankets and beanies, umbrella's and gazebo's, they settled down to a good glass of ale, fine food and great company, whilst others chose to dance the cold away, for a fantastic performance by Jason Hartman. The arts and crafts exhibitors added even more of a cultural flair to the day.”
Ticket holders who attended the Women's Day concert can attend the concert this Sunday at no extra charge, as long as they bring their ticket stubs to the Yellowwood gate. Tickets R85 (R70 pensioners and R30 children under 16) available through Parklane SuperSpar, Computicket or Yellowwood Café at 033 330 2462. Gates open at 12h00 and the concert will start at 13h00.
