CELTIS FOR MMC

Be prepared for a highland fling with a good bit of Irish thrown in at the Maritzburg Musicians Club.

Patrons of the Maritzburg Musicians Club (MMC) can enjoy a highland fling with a good bit of Irish thrown in when the popular band Celtis perform on September 7. Supporting this remarkable trio of celtic splendour will be classical guitarist Peter Tennant.

Celtis developed out of huge enjoyment of Irish traditional music, which draws from a long celtic tradition with connections all over Europe. Celtis has reworked some of the traditional arrangements to make the music their own, as well as composing contemporary music in a neo-celtic vein. Music which sets the blood surging, and the feet tapping! Celtis comprises Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby (violin), Keri Povall (flute, whistle and voice), and Ron Uken (guitar and bodhran).

This evening for connoisseurs will take place at the Red Door on September at 20h00. Tickets R20. The Red Door is in Quarry Rd, off Victoria Road, in Pietermaritzburg. Car guards on duty. More information from Roger O’Neill on 083 230 6562
