THA CUTT TO PERFORM IN DURBAN

SA DMC Turntable Champion Tha Cutt will appear at Unit 11 on December 9 accompanied by DJ Hamma (HHP) and featuring guest artists Ewok & King B (illuminating shadows) / Liquid KZN / Rez Proph. The quote goes "Hip Hop is just two turntables and a mic..."

“We get plenty of microphone action these days,” say the organisers, ”but when did we last pay any attention to the original backbone of cutting edge DJ skills: "The Turntablist"? The original element of Hip Hop culture, the "scratcher", that wiki-wiki sound you catch in the latest radio hit, the "man who speaks with his hands", and who better to demonstrate this art form then our own DMC International representative THA CUTT (Spindle Crew, JHB).”

Setting the tone for the evening will be the second Glockstars (www.glockstars.blogspot.com) independent documentary screening of the film Scratch: The art of Turntablism.

Keeping it live and interactive on the mic are award winning Rap acts Liquid KZN and Rez Proph, alongside hosts and original Durban Mic rockers Illuminating Shadows (Ewok and King B).

The performance takes place on December 9 at Unit 11, 190 Stamford Hill Road, Durban. Entrance R30 (R20 before 21h00) with the movie starting at 18h30 sharp.
