The KZNSA Gallery has curated a large exhibition in its Main Gallery of botanical art from The Botanical Artists Association of South Africa. The exhibition comprises botanical watercolours, drawings and prints that represent some of the finest work produced in South Africa
Young guest artist Sibonelo Chiliza will present his first major public showing. Sibonelo was awarded bronze medals in the 2004 and 2006 Kirstenbosch Biennales and a silver medal in 2010. The exhibition will feature an installation of botanical San rock art, an educational programme for learners and demonstrations by Sibonelo. This exhibition forms part of the Gallery’s Social Art Intervention Programme. It places these botanical works within the broader context of cultural heritage and society, and the environment.
