FROZEN

(Some of the cast members of "Frozen")

Charity is the theatrical focus at Westville Boys’ High School this year, as young performers take to the stage yet again to raise funds with a new musical benefit concert called Frozen. The Interact Club has chosen Durban Child Welfare as its beneficiary this year.

Frozen takes the audience on a magical musical journey through the evolution of popular musical culture. The show features an eclectic cultural mix of contemporary Bollywood dancing, African music and even the extravagant stylings of a Las Vegas spectacular. Audiences can expect chart-topping songs like Empire State Mind, Spirit in the Sky, My Immortal, Oh Africa, and many other big hits. Frozen is full of superb dance routines that promise to blow audiences away.

Fortunate to have the emerging talents of Splashy Fen 2011 headline act New Hysteria, Frozen is devised and directed by Devin Möller, musically directed by Luke Holder and choreographed by Fiona Barnes and Caeley van Doorn. The boys are joined by 30 talented girls from Westville Girls’ High School and other local high schools who are set to entertain audiences of all ages.

Frozen runs until May 28 at 19h00 in the Roy Couzen’s Theatre at Westville Boys’ High School. Tickets R40 pp (R400 for a table of 10). This is a Barnyard-style supper theatre and audiences are asked to bring their own food and drinks. No alcohol will be sold at the venue. Bookings can be made at Westville Boys’ High School through Sally Beuster on 031 267 1330.
