JUST DON’T

(Siphephelo Nxumalo, Phumlani Ngubane and Sandile Mchunu in a dramatic moment)

The Playhouse Company’s schools programme for 2011 features the play, Just Don’t

Based on real-life experiences, this crime-stop drama powerfully gets the message across: “Is crime worth it?” The production is set to tour to schools throughout KZN on the Playhouse Transnet Mobile Stage between May 9 and 27.

“The Playhouse Company fulfils an important part of its mandate in presenting this year’s Schools Programme to learners in our province,” says Playhouse Company CEO and Artistic Director, Linda Bukhosini. “Just Don’t is geared to assist educators in equipping learners for meaningful and successful living in a rapidly changing society.”

“In presenting this production, we are reinforcing the Education Department’s quest to highlight Life Orientation priorities as a vitally important learning area in schools curricula throughout KwaZulu-Natal,” she adds. “By highlighting the need for young people to seek responsible lifestyle choices, The Playhouse Company’s 2011 Schools Programme underlines the value of responsible citizenship and so contributes significantly to the ethic of nation-building among the youth of our country.”
