These popular lunch hour programmes offer a free platform for aspiring groups wanting to make the leap from the amateur to professional performance circuits, in Pantsula, Hip Hop, Gospel, Isicathamiya, Afro Jazz, Township Maskandi, Isigekle and other contemporary music and dance styles.
These events offer audiences an enjoyable way of spending a lunch hour in the heart of Durban’s CBD, while affording valuable talent-spotting opportunities for event organisers looking for fresh new artists to enrol.
The next Test Drive lunch hour event is on May 10 between 13h00 and 14h00. Featured artists are the Amazing Grace Gospel group, and the Sangema Isishameni performers.
Admission is free and all are welcome at these popular outdoor lunch hour entertainment events. You can also enjoy an excellent cup of coffee and a fine selection of refreshments before or afterwards in the Playhouse’s Coffee Shop.
