The Bat Centre is to presents a Youth Exhibition titled Identify Me
Exhibiting artists are: Sheryl Msomi, Nomusa Naomi Msimanga, Sbonelo Mthiyane, Sebenzile Nkwanyana, Nothando Sabela, Luyanda Zindela, Wiseman Ngubo, Musa NdawoNde, Zindela Luyanda, Zamashamase Mkhwanazi, Peacemaker Madondo, Sthenjwa Luthuli, Wonder Buhle Mbambo and Zakhele Jali.
This promises to be an outstanding “youth exhibition” comprising work by former and current DUT and BAT Centre students. A group exhibition of this kind focuses on the input of the youth to the art industry and how they perceive South Africa today.
This title, Identify Me came about when realising that today’s youth of has a lot to offer in terms of expressing their experiences. This exhibition encourages people to move forward - not to forget the past but to learn from it, so that the history won’t repeat itself but help us to move forward.
Identify Me will be opened officially by Bongumenzi Ngobese on June 15 at 16h30 for 17h00 and runs until July 15.
