TEMMINGH STEPS IN

(Lykele Temmingh conducts the first concert of the Spring Season)

The KZN Philharmonic has announced that Victor Yampolsky, the scheduled conductor for the opening two concerts of the World Symphony Series Spring Season, will no longer be able to conduct due to health reasons.

The opening concert tomorrow night will therefore be conducted by resident conductor Lykele Temmingh and next week’s concert features American conductor Daniel Boico, who makes his debut with the orchestra.

On the programme will be John Simon’s Fanfares for Tristan as well as two works by Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op.23 featuring soloist Petronel Malan and the Symphony No. 1 in G minor, Op. 13.

The concert takes place on September 15 at 19h30 in the Durban City Hall. Booking is at Computicket. For more information on KZNPO concerts, click on the banner advert at the top of this page.
