The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra proudly presents Concerto, a concert of light classical music, under the baton of resident conductor David Plank, showcasing solo talents from Pietermaritzburg and surrounds.
The programme features soloists: Jacques Heyns, Lienkie de Muelenaere and Matthew Hoffman (piano); Leandros Stavros (classical guitar); Angus Kerr, Matt Scriba and Andreas Scriba (violin); Elisabeth Quigley (French horn), and James Wewege (clarinet).
The concert is made up of well-known movements from various concertos by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Grieg, as well as the delightful overture from Beethoven's Creatures of Prometheus.
