HANDS ON COLOUR

The Midlands Arts & Craft Society (MACS) will host a free dyeing demonstration with Jutta Faulds and Wendy Bloy on October 15.

“Discover the joys and intricacies of dyeing both cellulose and protein animal fibres,” say the organisers. “We hope to cover dyeing with fibre reactive dyes as well as the whole process of washing and dyeing wool almost straight off the sheep with acid dyes. Dyes, fabric and fleece will also be available to purchase if you are hooked into dyeing at the end of the morning!”

The demonstration takes place from 09h00 to 12 noon on October 15 at MACS, 23 Haldane Road, Pelham, Pietermaritzburg. Phone Joy on 033 386 6500 to book a seat. Refreshments will be available in the coffee bar and parking is available from the 23 Ritchie Road entrance.
