The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway offers Big Top Rock as the perfect party show to keep the whole family entertained to celebrate the festive season. After having to endure the highs and lows of 2011, it’s time to let your hair down as you party it to a close, and Big Top Rock allows you to do just that.

The ultimate rock ’n roll circus, it features a 12-piece cast that brings you music, aerial acts, acrobats and a vibrant circus atmosphere which promises to keep audiences spellbound in an action-packed show featuring an extended stage.

The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway’s Christmas Eve show has become a tradition with many families who choose to see in the big day in a festive, family-friendly environment. Domestic goddesses are summoned to cast aside dishes, as a carefree night at The Barnyard is the perfect antidote to holiday mayhem. The show will thrill children of all ages, make grandparents happy and impress out-of-town visitors.

“The Barnyard has also developed an enviable reputation for its fabulous New Year’s Eve show and after-party, and we promise you a festive send-off of 2011 and a roof-raising welcome of 2012,” say the organisers. “Once the show is over, the band get the chance to indulge in a real session, as they take you through the last 30 minutes of this year before doing the mandatory new year countdown. They’ll party with patrons into the first 20 minutes of 2012 after which Durban’s favourite DJ, David Yapp, will keep the music pumping until the early hours.”

To keep patrons entertained through the festive season, The Barnyard has also scheduled extra shows on two consecutive Monday evenings - December 26 and January 2.

Tickets for the Christmas Eve (December, 24) as well as the two Mondays are the normal price of R135pp, while the New Year’s Eve show is a bargain at R320pp. You can order an enjoyable feast from The Barnyard’s kitchen to make the evening as stress-free as possible and safe parking is available in the centre.
