This evening (February 1), the Live Poets Society begins this year’s voyage into the realms of Poets and their Poetry.
Many LiPS members are having their works recognized by other literary journals and due respect is paid to them as creative writers when their works are published.
Dr Amitabh Mitra is in the process of compiling and editing an Anthology of Protest Poetry titled Un-breaking The Rainbow Voices of Protest From New South Africa which features many of the regular Poets from LiPS.
Dr. Deena Padayachee is also about to launch a book of Short Stories and an Anthology of Prose Poems which should be off the press in March.
Brett Beiles (LiPS founder) won the recent LitNet Quickie! Flash Fiction Competition and Irene Aarons has had her poem Flicker Flash published in New Contrast.
Tonight’s gathering will feature LiPS Convener Danny Naicker as guest poet. The gathering will take place tonight (February 1), at 17h30 for 18h00 at the Point Yacht Club, Victoria Embankment in Durban. Entrance is free.
