KHOLWA BROTHERS

Well-known isicathamiya group for St Clements.

As the opening of Time of the Writer takes place on March 19, the usual Mondays at Seven programme at St Clements has been moved to March 20.

Performing will be the well-known isicathamiya group, Kholwa Brothers, which was formed in 1990 by Derrick Mlambo.

Isicathamiya music is a popular acappella singing style made internationally famous by Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It is accompanied by “soft and tip” movement and the genre is unique and indigenous to South African people. The Kholwa Brothers perform their own original songs and dance moves.

St Clements is situated at 191 Musgrave Road on the right-hand side a short way down Musgrave after the St Thomas Road intersection. Mondays at Seven run between 19h00 and 20h00. Booking is advised on 031 202 2511. There is no cover charge but there is a donations box to support presenters.
