Ladies it’s that time again to grab your fabulous group of friends, get dolled up and head to Ster-Kinekor Theatres, for your first Girlfriends’ Getaway fix of the year.

To get this monthly event started on a romantic, dramatic and a heart-felt note, Ster-Kinekor Theatres offers the highly anticipated movie, The Romantics on March 14. The film eloquently captures a tale about friendships and alliances that are tested as a love triangle reaches a critical stage on the eve of the biggest day of a couple’s lives, their wedding day.

The Romantics, based on the novel of the same title by producer, novelist and director Galt Niederhoffer stars Katie Holmes (Laura Rosen), Anna Paquin (Lila Hayes) and Josh Duhamel (Tom McDevon) who come together with a few close friends for a seaside wedding. Laura has the privilege of being her best friend Lila’s maid of honour, who happens to be marrying Tom, a guy that they have both been pining over for years.

As the wedding date draws closer and closer and the vast amounts of wine and liquor are quickly consumed, the disappointments and the desires of the reunited friends slowly start to reach the surface. A game that involves drunken behaviour on the estate’s dock goes askew when the celebrators are pulled out to sea by the current. It is here that the plot thickens as they come to realise that one member – the groom, hasn’t made it ashore like the rest of them. As the search takes place, the group’s shifting allegiances is thrown into relief and therefore results in individuals confessing and new betrayals unfolding.
