The Umhlanga Sunday Market – The Wonder Market - is open on March 18 at the Chris Saunders Park opposite the Gateway Shopping Centre.
The Wonder Market is quite possibly the coolest hangout this side of the Umngeni River, not because of its hip and happening exposé of beautiful product - but because of its tree-filled location that’s breezy, shady and fantastically fresh.
“This will be the market’s 4th incarnation,” say the organisers. “So far it has been an overwhelming success, we’re delighted to see so many members of the community getting together and hanging out with us, and each other! It’s even more rewarding to see the amount of support and inclination there is towards buying locally. We know the-times-they-are-a-changin’, so well done and thank you for keeping it real, regional, organic and personalized. This really is the way forward.”
This market offers more new and exciting treats on the menu with authentic Italian cuisine premieres thanks to Mamma Luciana’s Deli; Sea Side Café; Marrakech Cheese; Ambrosia Apiaries, and Tasha's Fudge.
Invited guest this is The KZN Society for the Blind Weaving Project. A long-running project, this NGO offers an incredible story and unique craft to match. Why not purchase a wicker basket as you arrive to fill up with wonderful market goodies? Not only great for shopping and picnics, it’s the type of purchase that may just end up as the favourite family heirloom.
