OUT OF BOUNDS

Rajesh Gopie presents Out of Bounds, his insightful iconic one-hander comedy about grappling with being an a South African Indian under apartheid, at the Sibaya Casino for a short run from April 12.

“Rajesh Gopie's one man performance in Out of Bounds runs through 28 characters with jaw dropping energy. Billed as the play that so moved Nelson Mandela that he requested a private performance, Gopie never betrayed any pressure he might feel with the enormity of such a recommendation,” writes Natasha Hulluge from Culture Wars in Edinburgh.

Out of Bounds, probably one of South Africa’s longest running plays, has perfected in Edinburgh, the UK, across Europe, India and America – as well as extensively throughout South Africa.

“Intelligent and incisive, Rajesh Gopie’s passion shines through. Both irresistibly funny and emotionally searing as a character driven family chronicle,” reviews the South Western University press.

Out of Bounds is written and performed by Rajesh Gopie, and directed by Tina Johnson. It runs at the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya Casino from April 12 to 15. Performances April 10 to 13 at 20h00, on April 14 at 19h00 and 21h15 and on April 15 at 15h00 and 18h00. Tickets R120 except for April 10 at 20h00 when tickets are R80 for the low price preview.
