GUINNESS WORLD RECORD(TM) VOW RENEWAL

My FairyTale Wedding (SA's new and exciting wedding magazine and lifestyle brand) and Imagination Unlimited invite married couples to join their attempt at breaking a Guinness World Record when they host what they hope will be the world’s largest wedding vows renewal ceremony.

The events that will take place on May 5 at the Zone@Rosebank in Johannesburg and on May 12 at Palm Boulevard Gateway in Umhlanga will be in conjunction with the national red carpet movie launch of Sony Picture International’s movie, The Vow in celebration of the launch of My FairyTale Wedding lifestyle brand and wedding magazine.

Couples from all races and backgrounds can show their perfect symbolism of love and devotion by renewing their vows, as this is not a religious ceremony but rather an opportunity to display love and commitment to a spouse. Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the U.S.A has held the title since June 2009, and this is South Africa’s chance to show be a part of history in the making and re-write the record books. Only 1088 married couples are needed. And familiars are encouraged to share in the event. Photographers will be on site to take family portraits and couple's photos.

The first 100 couples participating in the vow renewal event will receive a pair of complementary tickets to the red carpet movie premiere of Sony Picture International's movie, The Vow, at Ster Kinekor cinemas in each region viz. Gateway and The Zone @ Rosebank. (T’s & C’s apply)

Those participating in the Vow renewal event stand a chance to win their share of R100,000 worth of prizes including DSTV decoders, gold jewellery, collector clocks and watches as well as luxury accommodation getaways and wedding planning services.

At the Durban event, the main sponsor, ABSA, will have giveaways for participating couples such as two suite tickets to the ruby match (Sharks vs Stormers), two presidential suite tickets to the soccer (Golden Arrows vs Orlando Pirates) and 300 stand tickets to these matches and two coffee machines (T's & C's apply).

There is no fee to participate but registration is required prior to the event. Couples will need to present a copy of their marriage certificate or have their Identity documents (ID) / drivers licenses on hand for registration which will commence from 10h00 to 13h00 on event days.
