Solly Greenfields, a taxi poet from Cape Town, is murdered in his Woodstock home. It is up to Adam Ravens, who once studied the art of taxi poetry under Solly, to figure out who killed his mentor and his friend.
This is the story behind Imraan Coovadia latest book, The Institute For Taxi Poetry which is due to be launched this week. “Welcome to the tragic, funny and deeply poetic voice of the truly original Coovadia” says the press release.
Imraan Coovadia is a recipient of the Sunday Times Fiction Award and is the author of The Wedding, Green-eyed Thieves and High Low In-Between.
