THE DORIS DAY SHOW

"She was the world’s sweetheart! She was the girl next door! She was the star of 39 films, sold millions of records and was the darling of the 50’s and 60’s."

So affirms Colin Penn whose next show pays tribute to Doris Day in a programme that sees her hit songs performed by well-known Durban cabaret artist Sandy Doherty-Bigara and Pietermaritzburg’s Haylea Hounson backed by Colin Penn and his Pennants.

The Doris Day Show has its premiere in Pietermaritzburg on July 1 at St John’s United Church Hall in Jabu Ndlovu ( Loop) Street. Unreserved tickets R60. Booking Hairwaves Shop 7 Victoria Centre. Phone 033 394 0940.

The show then moves to Durban for a performance on July 8 at the Norwegian Hall in St Thomas Road Homemade bread and soup will be on offer for a light lunch with the show following at 13h00. Tickets R90 booked through Barbara on 031 564 5135.

There will be a performance in Howick on July 15, also a lunchtime gig, with unreserved seating although tables of eight can be reserved. Tickets R100 booked at Village Talk and Bloo Monkey.

Glenashley Senior Primary School will host the show on July 22 at 14h00. Tickets R60 booked through Barbara on 031 564 5135.
