TANGA PASI AT BLUESTOCKINGS

This evening, bluestockings present the touring Zim sensation, Tanga Pasi.

Tanga Pasi is a bright and talented ensemble of Zimbawean artists who have just released their official debut album. Their music is grass roots - a fertile ground from which springs forth a tapestry of hopeful ideas, abundant joys and messages of strength in volatile times. The rich vocals of the lead singers are a listening experience, and mixed with soulful lyrics and an energetic African sound.

Tanga Pasi (meaning “starting from scratch”) is a versatile band making Nu-Afro music; a unique fusion of reggae, afro-jazz, folk, rock, Kalanga rhythms and traditional Ndebele harmonies. With a contemporary yet culturally-grounded feel, Tanga Pasi fuse styles, rhythms and instruments. Their lyrics are mindful, their harmonies soulful and their rhythms rock.
