BRONWEN FORBAY FOR FOM

Friends of Music proudly present the welcome return to her home town of acclaimed soprano Bronwen Forbay accompanied by four graduates of the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music.

Taking place on July 17, the concert features Bronwen Forbay herself alongside tenor Randall Umstead with violinist Ryan Prijic and pianist Stephen Pierce.

The programme includes Händel’s Neun deutsche Arienm 4. Süsse Stille, sanfte Quelle, 9. Flammende Rose, Strauss’s Ständchen, op 17 no.2; Morgen, op. 27 no.4, and Kling, op 48 no.3; Cumming’s As Dew in April, and Bliss’s A Christmas Carol, Sea Love, Vocalise/The mad woman of Punnet’s Town.

Also in the line-up are Massenet’s Elégie, op. 10 no.5; Fauré’s Puisqu’ici-bas toute âme and Tarantelle; Debussy’s Allegro vivo, Intermède: Fantasque et lèger and Finale: Très animé; Lemmer’s Heimwee na die See; Le Roux Marais’s Kom dans Klaradyn and Rooidag. Added to these will be Bernstein’s Oh happy we, Candide’s Lament, Glitter and be gay and Make our garden grow<

The Prelude Performer for the evening will be Wesley Lewis on Clarinet

The concert takes place on July 17 at 19h45 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road (K.E. Masinga Road), Durban. Tickets: R70 (R60 FOM members, R20 orchestral / students) booked at Computicket.
