Not to be missed at this year’s White Mountain Festival is Johannesburg singer-songwriter Lilly Million, an exciting new talent whose soulful organic folk vibe is creating a stir on the South African music scene.
With a sound reminiscent of Tracy Chapman yet uniquely her own, this charismatic artist is the real deal, delivering rich poetic lyrics expressively framed in simple melodies. If you haven’t seen her live or heard her songs on radio, be sure to catch Lilly Million at White Mountain over the Heritage Day long weekend, September 21 to 24.
Now in its 7th year, the festival is held at White Mountain Lodge near Giant’s Castle in the Central Drakensberg, less than 200km from Durban, 400km from Johannesburg and only 25km off the N3 on tarred roads.
Known for its intimate, relaxed atmosphere, plentiful amenities and idyllic setting, it offers acoustic performances by some of the country’s top artists, as well as arts and crafts, assorted food stalls, a beer market and loads of fun outdoor activities for the whole family.
Tickets R550 includes camping for the entire festival. Booking is through Computicket. For more information, visit www.whitemountain.co.za or call 031 563 0824.
